I met up with 5 other co-workers last Friday to do some Lake Michigan salmon fishing out of Sheboygan (I’m 3rd from the right). As you can see from the 1st picture, fishing was very, very good. We caught 29 fish (one short of our limit) while fishing from 4:30am to 2:00 in the afternoon. If we had actually caught all the fish we had on or that took a swipe at our baits, we would have been back to the dock by 11:00am.
We also ended up catching a Lake Michigan’s “grand slam” (that’s what the captain called it)…
Brown Trout
Lake Trout
Rainbow Trout
Chinook Salmon
Coho Salmon
The 2nd picture is of one of my co-workers showing off his 1st salmon of the day. Approximately 50% of our fish were this size. Since he grew up in Sheboygan, he’s the one who set the trip up. Unbelievably, even though he grew up there, he had never been salmon fishing on a charter before!
I brought back 4 fish. Grilled up one fillet last night and it was delicious!
