Today’s report comes from good friend Howard Gasman who spent the last couple days on the Bay.
LBdN: Water temperatures staying around 65 to 68 degree’s. Walleye
catches still on the light side with the occasional flurry of action.
Anglers trolling cranks by the docks over to the light house in Escanaba
catching walleye and northern pike. Some jigged in 25′ and up to the
mouth of the Escanaba River in the weeds. Lots of action here but many
undersize fish. Same goes for Garth Point, lots of action but many were
undersize. In Kipling off the west bank mud line in 12′ to 18′ good
walleye catches drifting crawlers early morning. Most in the 16″ to 18″
range. Northen were active throughout the Bay, many incidental catches
were reported. Smallmouth reported off the west bank in Gladstone.
Some anglers I talked to said some Smallmouth Bass were still on there beds in 6′ to 8′ in and around the weedlines.
