Fished Little Bay de Noc Sun. and Mon. The weather Sun. started at 37 degrees with a stiff north wind. Insulated coveralls were the norm. Fished the north end just east of the center reef just to to a bit of a break on the wind Sun morning in 15-24 ft. Caught 4 throw-backs all 13 1/2-14 3/4″ range drifting with 1/4oz jigs and 1/2 piece of crawlers. Tried difting with spinners as well. Gobies , perch and junior size walleyes, called for a change of tactics. Sun afternoon and Monday. I remembered the report from Tom Gursky on the 32-34 ft success he had earlier in the week, and changed location. What a difference the change made. Picked up 6 decent sized walleyes in 34-36 ft. drifting with 1/4 green jigs and 1/2 crawlers. Most were in the in the 16-17″ range. caught one fat 20″ for the largest of the bunch. Monday, the wind swithced again and the rain hit us for a bit, but the deeper water was where we found the better quality fish. A couple friends caught a few as deep as 42ft. Who would have thought 36-42ft.? Thanks Tom, for the helpful hint. We didn’t anchor, but we did find success after doing a little searching. Dave
