Here’s a report from the Marinette/Menominee on Green Bay;

Green Bay : Overall catch has been slow this past week. Angler pressure up trolling for Salmon/Trout in preparation for the up coming Brown Trout Derby this weekend. Occasional catches of Browns and Salmon taking place off the north end of Green Island and Chambers Island heavy concentration of bait fish reported in the above areas.

Menoninee River : Good Smallmouth catches in both the lower and upper river. Walleye catch down with best catches taking place in the late evening hours off Stephenson Island and Coal Docks. Other species caught were Fresh Water Drum, Musky, Catfish, and Sturgeon.

For the last 3 years, a buddy and I have traveled to the Sister Bay area and fished chambers island and horseshoe reef. We have always went the exact same weekend, 2nd weekend in august. All 3 years we have had the 3 best trips I have ever been on. There is only one other place in this country where you can hit double 10’s, twice in one weekend. Thats Vegas. It takes a day or so of searching but man, when you hit the right part of the reef, or chambers, it is unbelievable.
