I am thinking of trying Green Bay this year for the first time, I have been poking around other sites and it appears that end of June first part of July is good time to go.

Pulling crawlers is the thing to do, and Sportsmans is the place to stay.

Any other comments would be greatly appreciated

    Kirt,
Don’t overlook the shallow Smallie fishing. the time you are going there might not be the numbers as a 2-3 weeks earlier, but still should be some shallow..
    don’t forget your camera….

I grew up in that area… when I was a kid in the 60’s-70’s, the Fox was very polluted and the Bay wasn’t much better. It’s amazing how well things have cleaned up and how much the fishing has improved. The Fox in DePere at opener is just crazy for walleye – boats are wall-to-wall and they’re all pulling in some pigs. Still wouldn’t keep anything over 16-18″ out of there, though. The entire length of the river from there to the Bay has some real nice spots, from what I’ve heard. If you’re headed that way in the summer, you should also consider locations out from Green Bay, on the Door County peninsula. Sturgeon Bay area has some nice fishing as does other spots north. I haven’t found a website that has a wealth of info like this site has and don’t know where to point you for tips.
