Looking for charter fishing advice.

Okay, here’s the skinny, I’ve been on many charters in the past, but haven’t really done a good job of keeping notes on the good ones and bad ones. Some people obviously are better personality-wise than others, some are better fisherman, etc. I realize as much. Been on both Superior and Michigan and think I’d like to do Superior again as our last one was up to Isle Royale on Superior.

What I’m looking for is somebody that is easy-going but also knows how to put us on fish. Would like to target some big kings. We’re going to get this for my dad for a Christmas gift this year and would tentatively set a date for next fall (August the best timeframe for kings? Not quite sure….).

If you can offer any good advice on captains/charters to look at I would greatly appreciate it. It’s a lot easier to ask for advice from fellow fishermen and such vs. just doing a web search.

I have fished over 20 years on Lake Michigan with Dick and Gary aboard the Jester out of Manitowac, Wi. As far as big kings, they had the biggest in last years derby. You can reach Gary at 920 378 2491.

I’ve used the Hot Lady service out of Sheboygan. Her crew was great and the fishing was close to shore. Sheboygan also has some great restaurants to eat at as well as some fantastic places to stay. Check out Blue Harbor.
