Cold water hot for rainbows

The water is down right cold off of Two Rivers, 49 degree surface temps this time of year are unheard of and cooler as you get deeper. The alewife are thick and the fish have been gorging themselves as the rainbows we are bringing in are packed tight. Alot of action on the surface lines this week with orange and acid spot pro-kings on the surface and dipseys. Some nice size coho in the mix and plenty of kings. 60-180 feet of water was covered as we raised the trolling speed to 3 to 3.5 knots this week with the bulk of the catch being rainbows. Not much for a early bite, the best action for us the past week was late morning and late afternoon. Think opposite to catch fish untill the water warms up.
