Well Jackie and I made our first camping trip of the summer over to Big Lake Campground in Algoma WI. We have a new to us pop up pickup camper and it was our first time using it. Everything worked great fridge, freezer, and furnace. The temps this past weekend were very chilly with lows between the upper 30’s to low forties. Saturday evening we tried to go out and we were only able to make it out to about 50 feet of water. The wind was blowing and the waves were just a bit too much for our rig so we turned around and headed back in. Sunday am was much better and we were able to make it out for a while and we ended up with a couple of nice salmon. Sunday evening we went back out and we scored our new record five salmon. Not only did we catch five but we had a triple. That was very exciting. The fish actually got two of the rods tangled and we had to pass rods over and under to seperate the lines. Somehow we ended up catching all three fish. The following day we only fished the evening and we caught another 2 fish making our total catch nine for this trip. Most fish came from 40 to 60 feet down in water from 90 to 140 feet deep. We used a combination of flashers and flys on downriggers and spoons on dipsey divers. Heres one of the fish Jackie caught. I can’t wait for our next trip.

Thanks Mark. Are you over by Algoma or Green Bay somewhere?

    Leiny:

I am back up in Minocqua. CC management has changed to fireplace store owner. Great change of pace and the hours are so much better. Give me a headsup when you are coming up to Indian Lake again. I will let you know when I am coming down to Downsville.

Were headed back over to Algoma for our 2nd trip next Friday the 7th. I was thinking if you were down in that neck of the woods we could have a cold one or two.

    Leiny:

Actually be closer to ya in Menomonie. My nephew got married this spring (trip to Vegas). He was attending Stout and now has decided to quit school again. At any rate we are going to the reception in Stillwater Saturday and Sunday.

    We miss again!!!

Post on the Algoma trip and I am still thinking about hauling the boat down to try Tainter for the first time in a long time. Probably won’t get the boat down either.
