Even with 25 mph winds howling out of the north we did very well again today…We had the water almost entirely to ourselves as we cruised the deepwater breaklines with my Lowrance 332C doing the scouting work.
We started marking fish in deep water and rigged up 3/8 oz jigs on 6# test Hybrid copolymer line…it gets you down 40 feet, has minimal stretch, and is a Flouro(invisible) line.
We needed all the drift socks I had but we managed to slow the boat just right.
We ended up boating about 25 Walleyes in 7 hrs…8 of them between 17 and 20″. So far it has been a great opening week on Little bay de Noc.
