Bays De Noc.
LBdN:
Very slow in both Bay’s, transition period, ice limiting boat access not to mention launch sites not ready in most cases. Still the only ramps in are at the North shore launch on the Escanaba River. Anglers have been hitting the rivers in search of steel head but not much to report at this time. No fishing has been reported out by Nosee-um Creek. Anglers generally fish this area for browns and splake. The water is all open in this area and appears to be ice free. A few anglers have been fishing perch out in the Kipling area on the inside of the island from boat but the area is limited because of surrounding ice. They reported catching mostly smaller fish but the action has been good jigging wigglers and spikes in 6′ to 8′.
BBdN:
No angler reports in this area. Only 1 launch is usable at this time, Ogontz, the ramp is left in all year at this site. I have spotted anglers in the Sturgeon River fishing for steel head but have not been able to get any reports. Hoping for warm temperatures to speed things up! Good Luck!
