Today we kept the morning streak of limit catches going by filling the cooler in 2 1/2 hours. The big rainbows moved in and the orange spoons off the surface were getting hit hard. The #ball rigs were connecting with some nice size kings using the flashers and aqua Jimmy Flies. Our past days short afternoon trip capped the cooler with 16 fish. The action has really been hot, and the fish are hitting from 40 feet out to 180.

Looks to me like NOW is the time to get out there!

How long does that kind of bite last? Normally.

This bite is typically on untill we get a strong weather change pushing the water around or warming it. With the cold water so close to shore a strong east wind or a streach of hot calm days will change the pattern, but with the amount of fish in the area right now, which is early for our area, the fishing should remain very good for the rest of the year. Generally our area doesn’t heat up like this untill mid July, this is like getting excellent fishing for a extra 6 weeks for us. It will be hard to top this kind of action that we have right now, but if the class of kings we are catching now continue to grow, this fall we will be seeing some great returns of 25-30lb salmon.
