Hit the big Pond again on the afternoon of friday the 15th, this time with the kids and wife, hoping an active perch bite would keep them interested. The bite was ok, but the hook-up-ratio not so good, so after about an hour or so, and 5 perch later, the kids got antsy. so, I switched to Plan B: set up at the south gap with three lead core rods, and trolled to the Main gap outside the breakwall..first pass yielded two browns, about 3 and 6 pounds, and a ten pound laker. Had one fishless daughter, so tried two more passes, with no more hits, and called it quits on the fishing, as I had a mutiny on my hands…they were already bored. so we boated the river into downtown for a leisurely cruise, and called it a day at 6 pm. Perch came anchored just inside the south gap, on minnows/hook and lite weight to get it down to the bottom in 33 or so FOW.
