    Anyone over by Algoma area? Just wondering if lake Mich. is froze or if it’s even possible to ice fish over there? Sure would be fun to catch a salmon or two through the ice.

    Just moved to Kenosha and they are fishing about 14″ of ice on one of the harbors down here. I have only been here a week, but am planning to fish soemtime in the harbor over the next couple of weeks just to try.

    Do they catch trout and salmon in the harbor? I have fished in the fall but would be much funner through the ice. Its too long to wait for fall to roll around. What do they catch them on.

    Hi Mark, Kenosha? Did you switch jobs or something? There must be some good fishing around there somewhere? I’m sure you will be out and about and let us know whats happening over there. Hey when you stop in the bait stores around there please spread the word about IDA. We could sure use more folks posting from over that way. You heading back to Menomonie anytime soon? Steve

    Yes, the primary target is trout and salmon, though they take nice northern pike and perch as well. It wouldn’t surprise me to find some smallmouth bass and maybe even a walleye considering they catch them in other areas of the big lake.

    Leiny:

    Same business, just another club. Needed to see if I couldn’t increase the salary for retirement. Ten years here and back to Minocqua to retire and become a bad muskie guide. Hope to be able to get that way on the occasion as my nephew is planning on going back to school there next fall. I heard from my college buddy that he was out to Elk Point and caught several nice perch. I haven’t got the whole scoop, but would like to get up there as I do have Mondays off most of the summer.

    Also plan on fishing the Lake Geneva, the Madison Lakes, the Rock River and Lake Koshkonong and reporting as per usual.

    Caught some nice browns out of Racine WI this morning. here’s a sample of my report that will be on Monday.

    Steve, yes they were all browns and caught open water trolling in less than ten fow. I’ll have a report up at the entrance later Sunday night. Here’s another nice brown my buddy Ted Peck also caught.
