Fishing the Milwaukee Harbor in the fall has been on my bucket list since FOREVER.

I have never been there or even fished the Great Lakes in general, any and all information would be appreciated I plan on taking my 182 Crestliner. Places to stay, launch, when to go, any specific baits?

If you are looking for kings, the bite started already. This rain should push them up the rivers too.

I’m not in tune with the current bite in the harbor, although had a big skunk on Saturday…would have stayed home due to 20 mph winds, but had a guide trip for a fella from Iowa who was passing thru, and wanted to do it despite adverse conditions. The fish were jumping all over, but definitely not on a bite. My next trips into the harbor will be in November, chasing browns on plastics. That bite typically lasts all winter and into spring, so long as the river doesn’t ice up to prevent launching. Not saying that you can’t get the zombie kings and some browns between now and then, but I think the prime king bite is done, and the prime brown bite is yet to start.

I just got home a little while ago from an all nighter in the rain. Glow in the dark flat fish and purple/orange combinations are hot. Got a few clean looking females and the rest dark males.
Tom, when are you thinking about coming down?

Not sure this is why asking questions on when would be a good time…. maybe get on a decent bite. Fishing a new area is tough enough much less when the bite is tough to start with.

Sunday night and monday night should be good. River’s are puke’n mud and the fish will be haul’n butt up the tribs. Westernly winds through Monday night will make it very comfortable out there.
