Rain to Rainbows in Two Rivers

Had the pleasure of fishing with Keith and Dylan on the Willie Bee tonight and while it was not looking good at the beginning we decided to give it a try anyway and see what we could do. We left the dock with light rain falling and the wind blowing some 3-5′ waves into the harbor as we began the trip. it was a bumpy ride but the family settled in for the ride out to the fishing area.

In the end, both my boys managed to land very nice rainbows, one about 7# and the other a real beauty that tipped the scale at 10#. We also scratched out a small king to end the evening. Even my wife survived the trip and was happy to see the boys catch some fish.

Keith and Dylan worked hard fighting the wind and the waves and a slow bite to get us a few fish for the drive home. Dylan might be young but he knows what he is doing setting lines and changing things up trying to find something the fish wanted to eat and he did a great job as 1st mate.

I’ll have to post some pics later.

Its definitely been a tough year out there up & down the entire coast of Wisconsin.
Glad your boys had the opportunity to catch a couple nice fish.

Thanks for fishing with us Dave. Here’s a picture of the other night. A light rain and some left over waves to start but the rainbows under the rainbow turned out alright.
