Manty Derby Fishing Trip

After a search and destroy trip that took us king fishing in 70-150 feet of water, then giving the lake trout a try up at the nuke plant
and then heading out to try for rainbows and picking up one early king missing 2 and finding a rainbow in the end. We decided not to
enter the super derby and head out to deep water in search of a winning rainbow. We just passed 500 feet of water and found a small
pocket in 460 feet of water where we picked up some fish. We ended the day with a king, a laker. 2 coho, and 3 rainbows. Scattered
bites on bright colored spoons in the top 50 feet of water. Just missed the board on the rainbow and coho for us, but there were a lot
of big kings caught, with a 28lber leading the way so far. Action is slowly picking up.

When you are out in say 400 plus are you still fishing that top 50 with a few colors of lead to target the steelhead and coho? – QB

All mono on the surface with small boards. No lead lines or copper it gets in the way to much with multiple fish on and to much to reel in with the leads to run that stuff.
