    Hello

My buddy and I are going to head over and try our luck for walleyes in the big bay next week. This will be my first trip so I would appreciate any help. We are thinking crawler harnesses and crank baits in 8-12 FOW on the west side. Are we heading down the right path? Thanks!

We are planning to go on the east side next week, hopefully water level will be good. Historically during this time frame we have good luck on cranks early and late with crawlers during the day. Bite tends to be shallower on west side compared to east so 8-12 should be about right. Cover the whole water column, especially the surface.

Yep, if it were me, I’d put out of Oconto, and troll that 6-12′ range from the oconto river south. I’d probably run cranks more than harnesses

I am wondering what the water temp is?

We fished Wed afternoon and Thursday morning with decent results. Landed 8 fish the first day between 18-24 inches, but the bite died off very early the next morning with only 2 fish (19 and 21 inches)before 8 am. We had our best luck on crawler harnesses @ 1 to 1.2 mph in 7-11 fow. Water temp was 50-53 degrees.

First timer this next weekend. Going out on East side. Fishing walleyes would like to try trolling for musky also. Any help would be appreciated.
