Kenosha area

I have the opportunity to come down for a day and try some ice fishing or shore fishing. I will be in the Kenosha area but could fish anywhere along the lake. Anyone willing to give me any tips on what I should bring or try? Not sure if there is ice available to fish. I would be able to fish one late afternoon into the evening and again the next day until maybe 4 in the afternoon. I have never fished through the ice on the lake so anything you can tell me would be of help . Would like to find some browns. Thanks.

The lake down here is mostly open. There may be some extremely isolated harbors or secluded dead end bays that may have ice, but even those are iffy and you won’t find me on them. I’m pretty up on the Milwaukee county areas but not on kenosha. The marinas in these neck of the woods usually have fishing piers. Good luck, and set it hard.

You can fish the harbor behind the Best Western from Simmons Marina all the way to the lake.
