After having very strong winds out of the north yesterday bringing in much colder temps the winds began to settle down today. I spent 4hrs or so out on the Bay today by myself and did some jigging for Walleye. I found some fish in 18 to 21 FOW and did fairly well finishing the day with around 12 to 15 fish. Most of the fish were 19 to 22 inches but I did have a 25 inch fish along with a 27 inch fish. Water temps in the area that I was fishing were 36 degrees. I typically jig with a no stretch line but due to the cold temps I was not able to use that line so I had to throw baits on Mono filament and it was not as easy to detect bites. Hopefully now with the dropping water temps the fishing should heat up a bit.
