Door County Report 8/19/12

We took another trip up to Door County fishing for a long weekend. I had my dad fishing with me this time which is always nice. Our goal was to get into some walleyes and on the first morning I landed my personal best walleye, a big 30″ fish pulling cranks. We were only able to make one trolling pass because it was getting to rough on the reef. We then had a nasty cold front come through that shut down the walleye bite for us and others we talked to also. We only landed one other walleye on the last morning but had pretty good action with the smallies to keep us entertained. My dad also got a personal best with this pig smallmouth.

Very nice!!!! What part of the Door were you fishing?? I’m slowly learning that vast body of water. It’s tough when you can only make it up there 2 or 3 times/year. My last trip I fished out of Sister Bay which was gorgeous.
