Stumped on Washington Island

I’ve been fishing the waters around Washington Island for about 5 years and the last three have been pretty frustrating. I’m in a smaller boat so my range may be somewhat limited. I’ve got downriggers and have had some success near Rock Island but I just can’t seem to get on top of a good bite. I’m always in the wrong place at the wrong time.

If anyone has any input, I’ll be here one more week. leaving the 19th. I can’t even seem to find the smallies or Rock Bass this year. I’m open to anything, including charters (which I’ve used in the past!)

Thanks in advance if you’ve got any ideas or help!

get on the marine band and hail “lundertaker” or “electric spoon” they are both experts up there and they are on the water almost all the time (near Rock Island and fisherman’s shoal). If you can get a hold of them they would give you some tips to put the black lips in the boat.

Thanks guys! I’ll keep at it and let you know if I can turn it around.
