Be Patient anglers…time to get the boat and tackle ready, but a while before the bay is open. Here is the lastest report on conditions;
Bay De Noc.
Although spring has arrived, winter refuses to leave. Bay is still
covered in heavy to wet snow. Ice still
covering the majority of the Bay with just a few holes here and there
beginning to open up. Rivers in the area also starting to open up for
those of you looking for steelhead. I’ll keep you posted. Whitefish,
still reporting catches out from the Escanaba Y.H. in 65′ to 80′, most
jigging minnows or spawn. In Kipling anglers looking for perch reporting
lots of catches but many are on the small side. Best catches of larger
perch were in 20′ to 25′ jigging minnows. A warming trend is to begin
this week. There is still app. 50 shanties out and it may be a good idea
to get them off while travel is still fairly good. Good luck!
