The Cold weather in the last few weeks has a lot of people in Michigan headed out on the ice. with the recent cold snap a lot of people are venturing out with out as much caution as they should be. some of the smaller lakes had ice before the snow hit. this has made for slower forming ice. One of Michigan’s outdoor icons lost his life this past weekend. Terry Webber the owner of Michigan Stinger went through the ice and drowned in otsego county last Saturday. Terry was an experienced ice angler and it was an unfortunate accident. Terry and and all of his knowledge and guidance will forever be missed. Remember that no fish is worth your life and to always remember that no ice is safe and to always proceed with caution no matter how much experience you have. Ice picks are a necessity, not a luxury.
