Take a couple of paper plates and slice slivers of Irish Spring bar soap on them. Just set them around where they might enter.
When you do your dryer sheets stuff one in where your electrical cord is and I also put several in and around the water heater access door.

My solution was to get under the camper and use steel wool and spray foam to close up every penetration through the underside of the camper. I then put out tomcat blocks in the cabinets and basements while closed up through the winter. cleaned it all up last spring and wala no more mice.

I just got 32 packs of fresh Cab for wintering camper, boat etc. I’m glad they started making it again. They weren’t selling it last fall. Some kind of hang up with the FDA I heard. They must have gotten that taken care of. It definitely works, and I don’t mind the smell.

Stick razor blades into the foam when wet and you’ll be set. Just make sure mice are on outside, might get ugly if they’re still in.

Use brass wool, they will not chew thru that.
We also put bait stations under the camper.
Climbing underneath and sealing up every nook and cranny is the best defense.
September 20, 2018 at 8:05 am #1798554Use the sticky traps and add that extra security if one gets in still after all the above.

This is the best I have found. We keep our motorhome in our second lot that is completely wooded. Before using this I could catch 4-6 mice a day. After a 2 year battle with them and trying to plug up all the spots ect. I tried this stuff.
This will be my 3rd winter using it. Have not had 1 single mouse since. The smell is actually pretty good also. Better then the d-con and such as it keeps them out and you don’t have to find where they crawled into and died.
We use it year round and refresh it 3 times a year. We use 1 bag per time and that is for a 40′ motorhome, so it doesn’t take much to do.September 20, 2018 at 9:47 am #1798603D-con blocks, tomcat blocks (and other poisons) are the worst!
Not only did I find dead stinking (sooner or later) mice any place there was water, I found that they are easy prey for other animals if outside. One of the reasons we don’t have barn owls like we did in the ’50’s.
Glue traps work until the temps start dipping lower than 50 degrees.
Never used Cab fresh.
I stopped using moth balls once I found out about the gas they create once wet…and they stink!
Eric has a good product that I’ve used.
I still have the TomCat snap traps around with peanut butter as bait. Cheese dries out too fast.
Island Campground must not have many mice. I haven’t seen a one even in my garden tool locker since moving there. Can’t say the same for old camper #9 at the Last Resort.
September 20, 2018 at 10:52 am #1798622Glad to hear cab-fresh is back. Agree that stuff works.
Just starting to see the annual fall mouse problem. Keep the snap traps loaded when not there. When its time to close up for the winter, I set up 2 drowning buckets and put about 4 inches of RV anti freeze in there. That stuff basically pickles them so they don’t stink. Check on the camper 2-3 times over the winter and clean/reset.

Should sell those to China, they make some great wine!

Huh. Well my results have been very good. That sucks. I hope to keep my string of luck going!
