I was hoping to hit big Marine, bald eagle or white bear this week. Anybody got an ice report?

I was out in south metro today and the rain was the best thing imo. Got rid of all the slush, but bring ur cleats because it’s a skating rink

Yea, not speaking to your specific lakes but north Metro is much better with the rain. No slush and water and ice. Granted the 6″ is not a pure 6, but it is better imo.

I found 8 inches on tonka but it’s not clear black ice. Still pretty good though

Don’t drive on White Bear……. mrgreen

I’ll probably hit Bald eagle Friday or Saturday before heading to Mille Lacs as I haven’t snooped around that lake yet this year. In driving past both WB and Bald Eagle this week the snow is gone. Not sure I’d trust a snowmobile or 4 wheeler yet (hoping to use my sled soon) but pulling a sled should be a breeze now.

Nokomis was fine yesterday afternoon. The base ice seemed to have held up ok and all the slush is gone.

Visited 4 lakes in Faribault and a few in the south-southeast metro and all were excellent. No slush, water or crap. Just ice.

I wear skates in these conditions to get to my spot then switch to boots with cleats when I get to my spot.

I fished Big Carnelian yesterday; solid 5-6” of ice. Was a little slick, but nothing crazy.

Calhoun had 5″ on the west side today but it’s really slick. I’d recommend cleats on any of the local lakes right now.
