Has anyone ventured out on foot on ay metro area lakes? My son is itching to get out for a few hours today, but I’m VERY weary. And with it being near 50 today, things could change fast. I’m leaning toward a no but thought I’d ask what others are seeing. There have been several portables out down here in the far south metro during the cold last week, but that was before the hurricane we had a few days ago and todays warmth.

We ended up doing a little post-firearms season walk in the deer woods to take down a ground blind and check on what the beavers are up to on the creek that runs through. I think we made the right call, even the ice on the small ponds we passed is covered in melt water. I would not have enjoyed it, even if the ice was ok.

Anyone looked at Medicine lake last weekend? Hoping to get out there this weekend. Will probably poke some holes on the west side Friday to see if I can bring kids/friends out Saturday and report back.

I drove past Fish Lake (not far away, and smaller) yesterday and half the lake was wide open.

Thanks. So probably guys chasing pike in the west arm but probably want to be wary of heading out toward the main lake.
