If you have fall spots nows the time to grab your waders and get those cranks and ringworms flying. Fish are moving. Not sure what to expect with this low water but last year high water made for a good bite that lasted a lil while, some reason I feel this might be fast and furious. Who knows tho, tight lines.

Been branching off the chartreuse classic ringies, sand and firecrackers have been the deal lately.

What’s closed? Your shore spot? Same spot I checked out this spring that was so flooded?

You could definitely get back there as of last week, just not as convenient as it will be once the park opens back up. Latest river gauge shows us falling short of action stage so I don’t think it could’ve changed much. Should be enough room to slide back there.

Be interesting to get out this week and see what this warm weather does, usually tempers it down temporarily. Dirtier water means noiser cranks.

Mahto, get that boat out there. The walleyes and the smallies are on a tear.

It’s out of commission for a week or so. Getting the steering replaced.

I also think I should buy a legit anchor if I’m going to go out there just to be safe. My boat is a smaller bass boat at 17 ft. What type and size would you recommend? Sorry to thread jack the post for a second.

I have had really good luck with a Cat River anchor or any similar style break away anchor. I haven’t managed to lose mine yet which is a benefit. I think the Monster anchor is similar and a bit cheaper.

I have a standard anchor for emergencies only. It’s the one with a couple prongs that pivots. I also have a talon but that’s only used on the river when there is no dock and I need to beach and launch.

Do you have spotlock? That’s what you really need to effectively fish in the current.
