Metro 'eyes

So I did a little research and see that Lake Independence near Maple Plain has good walleye numbers. Has anyone fish this recently? At what depths did you have luck at? Most reports I am seeing are saying 30+, but that’s pretty vague considering a good portion of the lake is that depth.

Any advice in the right direction would be helpful.

    Thank you!

I was out there last weekend and sidled up to one of the ice castle towns. I marked fish nearly constantly, but couldn’t get them to commit much. I wound up throwing the tackle box at them, and finally caught one decent 17″ walleye on a small tungsten toad tipped with a trigger x wax worm.

It’s a good lake for metro, but receives alot of fishing and pleasure pressure. Either first ice or from opener to the first part of June is best.
