Metal Detectors-Anyone?

Always interested but never enough to buy. I rented one once to find nails on the yard after the roofers left and that worked great. Last weekend I lost my wedding ring (on my finger for over 24 years) and I think its in my yard. For double the cost of renting one I could just buy one and use for fun as well so I did. Anyone else into them?

had one back in highschool and was a blast. One time a bunch of friends and i went out into a field where I had heaved a huge handful of change. Lost about $5 that day but it was fun looking for it lol.

My buddy invested in a high end one but it was used maybe once or twice and put away. I think it would be a fun hobby to get into

I can send my buddy over to find it…I was flinging weeds off my duck boat last year and ting ting ting, across the parking lot of the landing it went…took a buddy less than a minute to find it in the grass nearby…it was dark and my ring is black…

My brother has one near Mankato, I will be down there this weekend and could probably bring it back and borrow it to you if needed.

I already ordered the dang thing but thanks a lot for the offer!
Its totally my fault. I dropped some excess weight this summer and knew it was too loose on my finger. It flew off once before. I think it came off while taking gloves off. Now was it my work gloves or riding gloves because I used both last weekend? jester I’ve been backtracking it in my mind for a week so I have some ideas. After that I can start searching for gold and silver treasures. I’ll be rich!

I’ve been married 4 years and I already have 3 wedding rings. Lose one and replace it. Lose one replace it. Then find both missing ones of course.

One of the first places I looked. Good idea though.

Yep lost my wedding ring first night back to work after honeymoon. I found it the last place I looked! Quirky right??? Much like most everything else that Ive lost in my lifetime and recovered. A phenomenon I guess. Enough to pattern off of and remember anyways.
P.S. I only lost it once andvwouldnt have much mattered if I lost it again. Didnt need it much after that. Lol.

I bought a metal detector while working in Virginia back in 1997 & 1998. Watched Civil War relic hunters flock into new work sites and decided to give it a try myself. Found some neat stuff! My mother lost a ring a few years back while doing yard work. I eventually found her ring…in one of her plastic bags full of leaves.

Lost weight and then my ring. Only it was lost 200 miles from home and I’m not sure exactly where.

I have a Garrett 250 and really like it. I found a silver quarter once and mostly junk otherwise. It’s fun along shoreline. I find lead sinkers often.

It would be nice to find a local buddy to go exploring old homesites with metal detectors.
