Messed Up Reel Help

As seen in the picture I’ve been having an issue with my reel, the bail arm is hitting the handle every few rotations. I can still push it past fairly easily, I’d just prefer if it were all smooth. Does anybody know what I should do or what I can replace to fix this? Thanks

It is bent,be very careful trying to straighten.Too much too fast and it will break.

Try and bend it but if it breaks order a new handle.

Thanks everybody, I’ll try carefully to bend it back, but since the reel still works I won’t go too hard on it

Before you try and straighten it, call a reel repair place and see if they have a handle …just in case. Then you will know how fussy you can try to be when you straighten it.

Put it in boiling water first, unless it’s plastic then probably not a good idea. Maybe you could heat the bent part up with a lighter first if it’s metal.

The ones that I have broke trying to straighten in my life all seemed to be made of pot metal. I would definitely try to heat it up first (remove it from he reel).

Like stated above it is most likely pot metal. Be careful and slow. Remove it from the reel first, don’t try to pry on it while mounted or you could do other damage. Put it on a vice and slide a lever of some kind under to apply pressure as even as possible. Not sure if I would try heat because the knob is probably plastic. Good luck

X2 and I’m not that mechanically inclined… And checking on an extra reel handle in case of breakage seems like a good idea also!!!

Most likely it is made out of chrome-plated chinesium pot metal, and at best the plating will crack if bent too much.Best of luck.
