I have a Mercury Smart Craft Tachometer. I is awesome. It tracks temp, voltage, hours and also has the smart troll for bumping the rpms up or down.

    It also tracks fuel used.

I think the most inexpensive solution is Mercury VesselView Mobile. If i understand it correctly, it just plugs in and connects to your phone via bluetooth and gives you engine data, including hours. Been meaning to pick myself up one but just haven’t gotten around to it.

I put something like this on my last boat. Works pretty good and easy to install

    I was leaning toward VesselView..

called 2 local dealers and they wanted over 100 bucks to hook it up and tell me hours. and a 2 week lead time

An hour meter like TinyTach or the one pic posted is easiest and cheapest. I get mine on amazon from Hardline. Battery life is many years.
