The manual for my 60HP doesn’t list a torque for oil drain plug even though it does for several other things. Mine doesn’t feel like it has much wiggle room, it goes from turning to tight very quick. I don’t force it and it never leaks.

Be careful. I was in a hurry once on my 90 h.p. merc and cracked the housing. $1000 later it was all better. It’s made of cast aluminu. I’d replace the washer every now and then also. It will break down

That’s why I asked what year. This example is from the 2015 owners manual, it has a drain VALVE, not a plug that gets completely removed.

The guy on the Mercury help line found it with some trouble.
Said it was buried somewhere on the database.
It is a measly 17 Ft LBs
I wrote it in my manual where it should have been in the first place.
    It is a 2011
