Mercury 75 hp outboard

I’ve got a question for all u guys on here. I’ve got a 75 hp merc that’s in good shape, recently tuned up and the mechanic said he didnt figure it to have many hours on it. He couldnt tell me for sure what year it was but he thought it was a 85 to 87…stainless prop, all the controls, and a new in the box yet 14 ft steering cable. What do u guys think it’s worth? I think I’d be happy if I could get 800 out of it but I’ve seen a few for upwards of 1500…thanks much

In my opinion if it really clean with the controls I would advertise it at around $1200. That size motor can be good and bad with the controls as many boats that use that size motor are tillers.
