Are there many evinrude dealers in your area?? Pain to find in my area now. My problem now with my etec. yamaha and merc all over.

Your first instinct was correct. Keep your eye on the ball. Buy the Yamaha.
March 13, 2020 at 8:56 pm #1922884As much as I want to “buy USA”, the Evinrude is just not a strong 60. It has the least displacement, will shake/vibrate more than a 4-cylinder, and the resale down the road will cost you more than the $300 you save now.
Your money, your choice.

Had a 60hp Johnson 2-stroke on almost an identical boat and it was like a missile hopping out.
Never owned an E-Tec, but have had some friends grenade higher HP ones. One buddy had a 40hp that was bulletproof. All gen 1
