    3 years ago I had the pleasure of ice fishing in the Hayward area the day after Thanksgiving. Walleyes on tip-ups! 4 inches of solid clear ice! Beautiful thing.

    I am going to guess tomorrow or friday… November 25th or 26th. I just drove down by the bay and it is covered with ice..

    Well whoever guessed today wins… Only fished for a bit just to check out the ice mostly and get a nice blurry cell phone pic. Hope the new bait shop has some spikes

    Ha… just had to get that first pic after I saw you guessing. I could tell a lot of people had already been down there testing it. Definitely was not safe yet. Probably not even 1.5″

    Seems to be a zoo no matter what… Haven’t done any good in that spot for a few years though.

    just got back from the bay……bite was slow but iced 1 gill and 3 smaill perch…….ice is abot 3 inches…… lets hope the rain stays away…..
