I got out today for a couple hours this evening with the hope to track down some walleyes. Mission Successful…
No wall hanging class fish but the average fish number and size is up from my past few trips out. Water temp was right around 51-52 degrees. Vertical jigging was rather difficult due to the wind so dragging jigs was about the only option in my little light boat. I got a steady producing pattern down dragging jigs up from 18fow to 9-10fow and back down again. 1/8 to 3/16oz jig’s w/ meat worked well but I kept having to go heavier to compensate for the speed of the wind. Hair with meat put many fish in the boat as well. Best colors today were Pink, Char, and Bright Green. For the day I boated around 2 dozen eye’s, a couple bass, and a northern. Biggest eyes went 23”, 22”, with several 17-15” fish and many short fish. Sorry for the junky first pic, wasn’t ready to take a picture of myself when I boated that fish so the camera was laying down facing up at the sun,
I have a good feeling that Menomin is only going to get hotter….
See ya out there!
