Got out this afternoon for some jig fishing. Caught a variety of species mostly on jigs and minnows. Crappies, perch, whites, a smallie or two. It was a little tough with the gusting winds but Petyb popped the 17″ and 24″ eyes in the photo.

Yep. thats my dog. he has been working too hard finding birds lately so he was due for an afternoon in the boat. He did get mad at me for not packing enough lunch though!

Great lookin eye, did better than we did on tainter. Water was 47 degrees and needs to drop another few degrees for my shallow weedy back water spot up by the Hay river to start poppin. We caught 3 small northerns, a bass and a few perch, eyes are still out in deeper water, expect next weekend they will be in shallow gorging on bait fish.

The more that pup wanted food, the more he kept eyeing up the squirrels on shore
