Well I wasn’t able to make it out on the water over the weekend however I was able to get out yesterday for about 6 hours. It was a perfect day to be out fishing with very minimal wind and not a cloud in the sky. I started the day fishing in about 10fow pitching and dragging jigs. This produced only produced one very small walleye and several perch. I decided to move deeper seeing as the water temp on the main lake was only 48 at the time. Now fishing in about 14-17fow dragging jigs and slowly drifting I was able to gain the success that I had the week before. Seemed I couldn’t get the jig to the bottom without getting some type of ‘tap’ or being stripped of my minnow. In all I caught four 12-14” walleyes and one 20” eye. I also got MANY pike that ended up biting off several of my jigs as soon as they saw me and decided to head back down. Sorry no pictures, I was fishing alone with a camera that has seen better days.
I also was glad to see the DNR out on the lake today checking every boat out there. This is the first time I have saw them out there and after seeing the amount of fish some people are leaving this lake with I’m glad to see them around.
Saw lot’s of trailers in the parking lot, Did anyone else get out this weekend?
