Changing water temp and ice cover is adding to the challenge of boating a few fish. Most of the lake was ice free yesterday, I had to bust through a little bit at the ponit comfort landing. I was not the first boat to launch so it was pretty easy. I am finding a fair eye bite working the 11 to 13 ft range. 3/8th ounce jigs, fished vertical has done the best. Working the 17 to 20ft depths if you are looking for some pike. I have pulled some dandy pike over the years including an 20+ lber.
I had some problems with the camera, so I do not get any pics of the fish today. The first photo will give you an idea of the contours I am following, using the Lake Master chip.

The fish are holding tight to any subtle bottom change or off a slight drop. When the water temp falls below 50 I increase the gain on the locator. In late fall with temps below 40, I will set it at max gain.
