Kellie, Hunter, and I had a very relaxing Memorial day holiday up at my in-laws cabin in Park Rapids but my brother-in-law and I were able to break away for a few hours on Sunday morning for a little fishing up at Leech lake with my brother-from-another-mother Phil Bauerly. With flat water and sun in the morning the fish were a little slow to wake-up but after bouncing around the lake for a while and varying our presentations we were able to put together a nice little pattern rigging shiners well behind the boat. We also connected with a few pike an bass dragging jigs, snap jigging, and pitching jigging Rapalas as well as a few walters on leeches so the fish are definitely starting to expand their menu. We brought enough home for a family meal and the rest are still swimming.
