Spent the last 4.5 days on Bitter. Caught over a hundred walleyes through out the stay.

Fished 2 to 8 fow with jigs and plastics the whole time.
Had 2 different areas we caught fish.
Flooded timber in 2 to 5 fow and points with weeds and rock.
The transition was in about 8 fow but caught fish all the way up in 5 fow on weeds.

Yeah I have my whole life. I guess my job groomed me for it.
Bitter lake is 2.5 hours from my house. So not a terrible drive.
It is a lot of fun catching walleyes casting.

I don’t mind driving either, I have always been that way. I have many 3 hour to 4 hour 1 way day trips under my belt. We just roam to where ever we want to fish. And we do lots of tent camping as well doing the same thing.

Jigs and plastics is the best way to catch walleye. Just the thump of a hungry eye especially shallow sure is fun.

    Any size to them?
Last September we caught over 100 per day on Bitter. Nothing was over 13″

2 weeks ago a similar report came out. Lots of fish but no size to them.

I’ll be going back out in 2 weeks. Hope to find better size fish.

For every 6 – 13” fish we caught we would get a better fish in the timber on the west end.
All the fish we caught on the main lake were better quality. Fish ranged from 17” to 24”. We released around a dozen over 20”.

Well that’s better news to hear. Thanks for sharing that Mike.
