Running a helix 10 G3n with mega live and burned through a Tracker lithium 18ah battery in less than 6hrs. Anyone run all day with a different brand and how much amp hours will it take to do a long day? Thanks

I’ve been using a helix 9 with the mega live and haven’t come close to killing a 20.8 AH NORSK in a single long day. Not sure how much more juice the 10 pulls versus the 9 but I’m sure you could find that info online.

Turn down the screen brightness, that unit does use some juice at full brightness.

My Norsk 20ah will run well past 8 hrs. Screen bright will help as well as turning off all non essential screen options. (at least helped me). And I turn off my regular ice Xducer. I only run Mega Live so it is a bit of a pain to poke holes and look at depths but hey, thats what forward imaging is for. I run only a map screen and Mega Live. At 8 hours I only burn between 25 and 30% batt power. Helix 9 G4N

I have 2 Marcum Brute 10ah batteries in parallel for 20ah and my Live paired with a Helix 9 has gotten me 9.5 hours of use and was still fine when I shut it off. That was the longest day I have put in with it.
I had my light setting at 4 I believe.

Light setting above 6 will pour the coals to the battery. It’s less than half if you put it down below 6. I have all the data somewhere written down but what sticks in my head is “never go above 6” on the screen brightness.

Thanks for the replies, I was running the screen from 3-5 the whole time, I’ll give the Norsk a try.

Get yourself a 30ah battery. I used to run an 18ah and now no more worries with the 30ah.

I have a Garmin 9” with the Garmin Livescope. I was told the
Livescope used a lot of power. The battery that was recommended was the 14.8v Amped battery. I decided to go that way with my setup for ice fishing and have the 14.8v 32ah amped battery. I have used it for at least 15 hours before recharging it, and it wasn’t even close to being out of power. Only drawback is it takes a special charger because of the additional voltage, but amped outdoors sells the chargers also.

I’ll second the Amped 32Ah NMC battery. I think it’s the best setup for any of the imaging systems.

Spent 12 plus hours on the ice today with the Norsk 20amp battery, left with 50% battery still to use. Thanks for the help.
