James, what are you using as a power source for that M360?

    NORSK 15AMP Lithium.

That’s what I wanted to know.

Any word on battery life? How many hours on the ice?

I can’t tell you the max runtime as I’ve yet to run out of power. I would estimate that I’ve had the unit on 6 hours average each day on the ice. We’ve been using it to pin down the fish and once we’re on them we’ve been turning it off. If we lose the school then we power it back up and go on the hunt. I don’t see any reason to leave it running in the hole when we’ve got fish on the 2D but I know some guys do that. The days are so short right now that I don’t think I’m in danger of running out of power with that battery any time soon. Once the days get longer I did just purchase a 19 AH AMPED that should provide additional runtime if needed.

I put together a video that shows what you need to make your MEGA 360 ice ready. Give it a look if you’re thinking about putting yours to work on the ice.

FYI – I did a quick look around the interwebs and it appears finding some of the kit pieces is… challenging. Lots of items listed as back ordered or as “pre-order” items. MEGA 360 Bundle Parts @ Reeds Sports

Anyone using 360 for basin fish?

How do you define basin? The photos from our perch trip earlier in this thread were from the mega 360 used to target basin perch. The mega 360 works phenomenal in that scenario.

More looking at deeper suspended crappie 20-30 foot or so. I haven’t seen many pics of that ice or open water. Just curious on settings for that situation.

    Peter,

I have used the Mega 360 in the boat. It works incredibly well for doing what you asked about. I will try to find a picture and post it.

Gotcha. Just wanted to make sure we were talking the same lingo. grin

Here’s a screen capture showing an example of that scenario. 31′ of water. Ice fishing a soft bottomed basin. Gain set to -1. Contrast at 13. Range 70 feet. Small school 16 – 20 feet to the 9 0’clock position.

    They were biters! waytogo

Peter, here is 2 photos from this fall. It works so good for crappie in the basin, it almost feels like cheating. The camera washes out some of the clarity of the 360. The Mega 360 looks more crisp looking at it verses a picture of it.

    James,

If I understand the image correctly aren’t the fish basically just below you and slightly to your left?

That image is showing a small school 16 – 20 feet below the ice, to the 9 0’clock position from the hole the Mega 360 was in.

We had the chance to get out with Konner Kleist earlier this week in Southern Ottertail Co. to chase bluegills before the last storm rolled in. Our timing was perfect as the fish were on a tear up until the big winds started to rip. The fish were being pushed off a shallow weedline by fishing pressure with fish collecting around deeper isolated weed clumps. We found the clumps using MEGA 360 and had a field-day catching some really nice gills using 1/12 oz. Tumbler and 1/32 oz. Flash Champ spoons, both in Green UV pattern.
