I posted this in the dog group, but meant to post in the general forum.
Call us crazy, but Billy and I adopted another GSP pup over the weekend! His name is Remi and he is 1 year and 2 months old. Our current GSP Fritz is just over 2 years so it’s been a while since we’ve had a new younger pup in the house… I’m feeling anxious and sleep deprived already! Remi and Fritz seem to get along so far, considering all that’s been happening in the last four days. Remi just had his neutering surgery on Monday and the vet said to limit his exercise for 10-14 days, so no jumping, running, roughhousing – yeah right! Wish us luck with that! I take it as a good sign that Fritz and Remi want to jump around, run, and play with each other, but for now we’re trying to corral them as best as we can to keep everyone calm until Remi is fully healed. What an adventure this fall will be! We’re hoping Fritz will be a good leader in the field and Remi can learn from him by example. Remi hasn’t had the obedience or hunting training that Fritz had at this age, so we’ll be needing to remember the patience and consistency we had when Fritz was younger. Wish us luck!
