I posted this in the dog group, but meant to post in the general forum. smirk

Call us crazy, but Billy and I adopted another GSP pup over the weekend! His name is Remi and he is 1 year and 2 months old. Our current GSP Fritz is just over 2 years so it’s been a while since we’ve had a new younger pup in the house… I’m feeling anxious and sleep deprived already! Remi and Fritz seem to get along so far, considering all that’s been happening in the last four days. Remi just had his neutering surgery on Monday and the vet said to limit his exercise for 10-14 days, so no jumping, running, roughhousing – yeah right! Wish us luck with that! I take it as a good sign that Fritz and Remi want to jump around, run, and play with each other, but for now we’re trying to corral them as best as we can to keep everyone calm until Remi is fully healed. What an adventure this fall will be! We’re hoping Fritz will be a good leader in the field and Remi can learn from him by example. Remi hasn’t had the obedience or hunting training that Fritz had at this age, so we’ll be needing to remember the patience and consistency we had when Fritz was younger. Wish us luck! )

Wow. Dualing GSPs. I know a few pheasant and grouse spots where that would be awesome.

Awesome! I’m jealous – I’d like to add another pup next year. We’ll see…

Beautiful dog. I love all the liver ticking on him. Know all about needing to be patient. We have a Vizsla pup right now that didn’t get off to a very good start before we got her. Doesn’t help that the FW and I haven’t had a pup in the house for 11 years. She can be a little devil sometimes.

Well things have been going great with Remi! He and Fritz are getting along well and Remi seems to be learning from Fritz both at home and in the woods, which is what we hoped would happen. It’s a lot of energy to manage but it’s been a lot of fun! Especially at night when they’re both tuckered out and curl up on either side of me to snuggle. Oh and Remi snores just a little!:)

Great looking dogs, love short hairs, very intelligent dogs.

Nice shot of the hanger ears (as we call it). Love it when they hold the ears out, out of interest.
And the snoring is funny. Only one of ours usually snores but when they are super tired they both saw logs.
