I bought a trolling motor for my 2018 Lund Rebel. I can handle mounting the bracket on the bow and I see I have a receptacle for the trailing motor that is already wired. I presume the 2nd battery will be next to the primary battery in the stern, but I don’t see any extra wiring in the battery compartment that I could connect to the 2nd battery. I really don’t want to set my boat on fire. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks!!

Not knowing anything about the Rebels I will ask…you sure you don’t have a front battery compartment. Lots of manufactures have them up front to move the weight forward.

Like Dutchy mentioned, here is where the TM battery compartment is on a 2018 1600 Rebel.

Is it a 12v or 24v trolling motor? Is the plug in able to handle the amps of the new motor? Did you get a circuit breaker the correct size? Just follow the instructions that came with the trolling motor.

If the receptacle is already wired, what’s it wired to?
