I’m a big fan of brats/sausage (setting you joksters up nicely there). Anyone have a recommendation for a meat market with some good ones? The best I’ve had is at Clancy’s meat market in south Minneapolis. I’ve heard that Kramarczuk in NE is good and plan on giving them a try. I live near mackenthuns and while I enjoy some of their products I’m not a big fan of their brats. I’ve liked von hansons products although overall they seem very expensive. I’m willing to drive a ways as I will just buy in bulk and shrink wrap and freeze.

RJ’s in Hudson has good brats, try the chicken cordon blue, those and jalepeno and cheddar are our favorites.
August 11, 2019 at 1:24 pm #1872863If you ever get out yonder to the East, Louie’s Meats in Cumberland, WI has a delicious selection of quality meats! Brats, chicken, lunchmeats, they’ve got lots of good stuff. Their baked goods are excellent too – they make a loaf of this apple cinnamon bread that’s hard to beat!
August 11, 2019 at 1:32 pm #1872866The blueberry wild rice brats at Greg’s in Hampton are pretty tasty.
And if you go there and make sure you grab some bacon!DeucesPosts: 5236August 11, 2019 at 1:51 pm #1872873Hackenmuellers in robbinsdale make a good ol fashioned wiener.
Been seeking an Italian sausage myself to rival that I’ve had in Chicago years ago. Dang those were good.

Grew up on RJs! If you like spicy, Anthony’s Red Hots are my absolute favorite. Little bit of bbq sauce to balance the heat? Perfection.

rogerPosts: 149August 11, 2019 at 6:05 pm #1872933When you come south to Iowa, try Graziano’s Bro’s. Link or bulk.
Pinch off a link of their sweet or garlic and try it in a bun or directly on the plate. Do Not Overcook it or nail it with high hard heat too much!
August 11, 2019 at 6:43 pm #1872939Grundhofer’s in Hugo. Home of the gummy bear brat.
X2. Plus they have a 130 flavors of brats
August 11, 2019 at 8:06 pm #1872966McDonald’s Meats in Clear Lake, MN.

August 11, 2019 at 9:06 pm #1872972Another vote for Louie’s!
All other brats are just weiners compared to theirs.

August 11, 2019 at 9:29 pm #1872973B&B in Cloquet is great. If the only brats I could eat for the rest of my days were their chili-cheddar brats, I wouldn’t be sad.

Schmidt’s meat market in Nicollete, MN – near Mankato. Best hot dogs too and tons of brats variety. Old German butcher shop.August 12, 2019 at 6:25 am #1872990Got a whole bunch of thumbs up this weekend from these I made.

RJ’s in Hudson is good, but ‘Nobody Beats Louies Meats’. They usually have 2 or 3 flavors on sale each week for 2.99 per pound.
August 12, 2019 at 9:21 am #1873020I’ll give another vote for Mcdonalds Meats and RJ’s in Hudson.
County Market Grocery store in Hudson WI also makes some great Cheddar Brats.
zooksPosts: 922August 12, 2019 at 9:23 am #1873022Hackenmueller’s in Robbinsdale makes a great classic fresh brat, close to you and they’re really a great deal, $4 per lb. I always get stock up on brats, wieners, and bacon when I go.
August 12, 2019 at 9:24 am #1873023RJ’s jalapeño and cheddar are hard to beat. I’m not even a huge bratwurst fan and I love em
August 12, 2019 at 9:27 am #1873024Thielen’s Garlic Polish are my personal favorite, and they have bulk sales where you get a 10 (or more) lbs box of them for like $3-4/lbs and you can wrap/vacuum seal as you’d like. Had McDonald’s Award Winning Blueberry Wild Rice Maple Syrup ones last week and they were good not great. Pekarna Meat Market in Jordan is good in general too, but I haven’t had brats from there.
August 12, 2019 at 6:45 pm #1873174No mention of Schmidt’s in Nicollet? That place is an institution. If I had to choose it would be them, then McDonald’s in Clear Lake as a close second.
