Jim makes some nice boards. I finally bought one last winter since he had one laying around that was 32″.
If my fish get longer than 10″, I can pull more out to measure.
Sorry no board. I’d just forget it.
What you have looks nice.
A couple better shots of my birdseye maple.
I really like it a lot. It will be with me till the end of my fishing days for sure. The craftsmanship is superb. Thanks to eyeguy54 for pointing me in the right direction.
So how much are we talking for one of these boards? They are very nice!

Get ahold of Jim. The price will vary depending on length and type of wood. He does have some extras already done from time to time. I seem to remember my 32″ was around $120
60 and up. send jim a note, depends on length, width, wood etc. My fancy wide one probably over 100 now days. Not sure if he even makes that style anymore.
The birdseye was $125 if i remember right. Plus shipping. When i was talking to Jim, he said he will never make another birdseye.
And he hasnt made one with marks every inch like eyeguys, in 9 years or so.
I put the blame squarely on you guys for me spend more non-allocated money. What’s it called – impulse purchase?
I just ordered a 28 inch Cherry and a 32 inch Maple from Jim. I couldn’t decide so I ordered both.
I just went back and checked his email hoping he had a nice 16”er for panfish. Thankfully he didn’t.
Sounds like he’s hanging it up and will no longer be making these. That’s a shame.
Does he make a 72″?
He made some for Alaska fish and game that were 60″+.

I love that pic of the Walleye staring at the camera Lance. Glad you like your boards.
Thanks Eyeguy for reminding me I’ve been lost is the woods. Nice to see fishing folks again, I hope to start getting out again, I now live about 5 miles from Beaver Lake in Arkansas.
Ill send ya some pics when i get home. Been on an ice adventure the last couple of weeks
Due to a whole lot of responses from folks it looks like I’m still in the MSRD Board business. Wood selections won’t be as wide as before when I had a good stock of a lot of woods, hardwood prices have gone through the roof and I’ve started making custom guitars but will work with folks that want more choices for their boards. In case you’re curious heres the start of the JM guitar world.
There is a guy selling wooden measuring boards on another fishing site for $40. In the classified section.

Much better use for all that gorgeous wood! I’m not a big fan of Gibson shapes but that SG is rather beautiful.
Good luck in the instrument trade!
