Anyone here fish this last year? I don’t remember seeing any follow up here as to how this went last year. Close to me, but I would also be interested how it went last year. I believe last year was the first year? Thanks. Shawn

Riverruns, the NAIFC event last year was awesome. They’ve fixed the issue of being in some sketchy water and set the boundaries to where everyone will be fishing anyways. Fishing was absolutely awesome there. Everything from 2lb perch, 1.7lb crappies and 1lb gills where caught there. It’s an amazing place. I just wish we could make this year but I’ll be in Latvia training for the Worlds that weekend.

I’m interested also but would like to know or see where these fishing boundaries are. Is there a chance for a guy with no atv or snowmachine to win? How big is the fishing area is what im trying to get at as my only form of travel on the ice is my two feet.

evobassfish, all the info should be found on the fb page here. There is a boundaries post. With that said there is no doubt a person without a machine could win this. You could easily walk to the spot we got forth last year from the launch!! ;-)

These are the boundaries for the tournament you can easily walk to where there is fantastic fishing for perch crappie and bluegill from the launch site any other questions should be directed to the Mayhem on the Mississippi Facebook page

Only problem I see is BNSF said they will be giving trespassing tickets out to anyone who crosses there railroad tracks this year. Any idea what the ticket cost?

I have to agree with Boone04. How does this play into crossing the BNSF railroad tracks. Currently you cannot walk across tracks legally in the state of WI. Your Boundary shows you can fish on the west side of the tracks. How can we access that area if we would decide to fish that area?

SHEBOYGAN TEAMS TAKE 1st IN MAYHEM ON THE MISSISSIPPI RIVER ICE FISHING TOURNAMENT

ALMA, WI- Once again teams across the Midwest met up in Alma, WI this last weekend for its second annual Pro Ice fishing tournament, Mayhem on the Mississippi Ice Fishing Tournament. Some of the biggest names in Tournament Ice Fishing came from NE, WI, IA, MN, WI, IL, and MI drilled 1000’s of holes to find the biggest 20 fish combo of perch, crappie or sunfish. Team Aaron Berg and Matt Thayer from Sheboygan, WI took home the top honors with a 20 fish limit of fish weighing 12.39 pounds. Right behind in 2nd place team was Brandon Newby from Wisconsin Rapids and Ryan Wilson from Waupaca, WI with a bucket of 20 fish weighing 11.38 lbs. Trailing in 3rd place was Jim Hesse and Zach Nodolski both from Lincoln Nebraska with an 11.34# bag. Alma, WI locals in Top 10 included: 14 year old, Jordan Fluekiger and Anthony Rodriguez finished with a 5th Place finish with a 9.57# bag; Jeff Rieck of Alma, WI and Greg Michels finished 8th with a 7.87# bag, respectively.
Saturday kicked off with 2nd Annual KIDS ICE FISHING CLINIC. A record breaking number of 57 kids and their parents hit the Ice at Breckow’s landing. Each kid was given a rod and reel with a lighted visor Jason Mitchell Outdoors baseball hat, donated by Jason Mitchell and Future Angler Foundation. Kids, parents and helpers from all over got an education they will never forget and memories that will last a lifetime.
Following the KIDS ICE CAMP was the charity banquet put on by the RUTTING RIDGE FOUNDATION, INC. Rutting Ridge Foundation Inc. is a 501c3 non-profit company that was created to help physically challenged youth and veterans enjoy a hunting/fishing trip of a lifetime that they would not normally be able to experience. From hunting giant whitetails & turkeys in Buffalo County, Wisconsin, to fishing for 10-pound walleyes in the Mississippi River, it’s an outdoor adventure they will never forget! Their memorable experience doesn’t stop there. We also provide our wheelchair bound outdoorsmen & women the means to be able to continue enjoying the outdoors long after their trip with us are over. Through the generous donations received from our friends, supporters & sponsors we are able to provide them with their very own Action Chair. These tank type wheelchairs allow them to go off road/trail and into areas that standard wheelchairs can only hope to go. Mud & hills are nothing more than fun obstacles. The chairs become theirs to keep, so they can experience the outdoors on their terms and access all the areas they desire.
