Mayflies?

Anyone seeing any mayflies yet? Heard they are getting crazy around Minnewaska area. Anything around Mille Lacs yet?

The woods was full of misquitos the size of mayflies last night if that helps.

The dreaded M word already??

I sure hope we don’t see them for a while yet on the river.

Most of the large hatches on Pools 4 and 5 don’t come until the very end of June and into Mid-July it seems. Lakes are clearly different though.

Just look at all that “protein” going to waste! Somebody ought to call their local tree hugging, bug eating, save-the-world environmentalist and ask why they aren’t harvesting all this free food!

That’s about the same time frame as the hatch on the Big V. Maybe more like mid June to mid July.
