I assume that there is no reserve seating, all general admission? Whats it cost to get into the Masters? I heard the souvenir shop does $1 million a hour, is that possible or did they mean to say per day?
Rose has caught him.

I usually think that,
“Let’s go!” Or “Let’s #@$&*+g Go!” Is the most annoying sports cheer. How quickly I remember that “Get in the hole!!!!” Is 100 times worse.

If thats the worse listening to Nance blubber on is a close second.

I won’t argue that.
As I mentioned I’m not a golf guy. My question is had Rose won on the extra hole would the narrative have been Rose took the Masters away or Rory gagged the Masters away?
The story would’ve been that
Rory choked. He hasn’t won a major on ten years and had lost a big lead at the masters before. Up by 4 shots on the back 9 would’ve been a choke job.
What a final day! Watched the first 4 holes and the playoff. Fun to see Rory finally win it.
Doesn’t get much better than that when it comes to watching golf. It was a Masters for the ages. Would love to see Rory make a bit of a Majors comeback. He and Scheffler both seem like great guys and there’s a few villians to make it interesting – except most wen to LIV.

LIV just hired Bud Lights old marketing executive so they shouldn’t be around for much longer…

It was a nice win for Rory. He also proved that you could get 4 double bogeys and still win.
Rory had some unreal approach shots and Bryson forgot how to putt.
I’m happy for Rory but can’t say I was cheering for him in the playoff. Justin Rose would’ve been a great story.
To weigh in on Dutch’s question—- yes, the prevailing narrative in the media would’ve been Rory choked again because that story gets more clicks. Rory’s name gets more clicks period so that’s how they frame it. For golf fans who have watched Justin Rose hang around the top of the Master’s leaderboard for years, that would have been a huge story and just as exciting as Rory winning.
I am looking for the less obvious story. Sometimes it seems like Rory, Scotty, and Bryson are the only golfers the media even acknowledges. The Scheffler mania is out of control for me. I’d like to see him go winless (unlikely) one year after being crowned the best in the game. Right now at this moment i can’t see how anyone can make a case for anyone other than Rory as #1.
that’s why I was pulling for the Aberg kid. “New” name and no one was thinking he had a chance. If Rose could have made a few putts on Saturday it may never have been in contention on sunday ( although it IS Augusta and it is the master’s) – He couldn’t buy a putt on saturday.
Rory did make some incredible approach shots and you can’t take that away from him.
Both Rory and Justin’s second shots to the pin on 18 on the playoff were superb, especially under that kind of pressure.
The back nine will separate the wheat from the chaff in Augusta but a BEAUTIFUL weekend for golf.
P.S. I like the pin on the bottom on 16 on Sunday. Love watching that roll!
A lot of people were picking Aberg to win…he’s pretty universally regarded as the next superstar in golf. I don’t think he was sneaking up on anyone.
The Rory/Bryson rivalry is just awesome for golf. If you listened to Bryson after the round he mentioned that Rory didn’t say a word to him. That’s ice cold and Rory was dialed in. To make the mistakes he did and still take the win is pretty improbable.
I’m with DW…I’m not a Scheffler fan. He’s a great player but he’s got no personality. I’d like to see more young guys like Aberg rise to the challenge along with Rory continuing to play well. Seeing Spieth and Thomas start making a run again would be fun, too.
I thought I’d stop watching golf as Tiger hasn’t played but there are some awesome storylines right now. Rory winning the grand slam will be one of the best sports stories of the year.
aberg was definitely a popular pick after finishing 2nd at Augusta last year and has been looking good with an early win already this year. I love his swing and he plays fast which is a treat.
I agree Matt, lots of good stories in the game right now.
Finished in the top half in my Masters Fantasy. Cam Smith killed me missing the cut.

Speaking of fast, I’m so glad the camera was barely on Rose. He takes forever to line up his shots. Imagine if the final pairing was Rose/Garcia?
Rory choking would have been THE story line for the rest of the year, maybe even years (plural). Credit to him to come back with birdie to win it and change the narrative on what would have been an epic collapse. Aberg is really good, but they have been force feeding him as the next big thing for years now, kinda like they did Rory back in the day. And while both are great golfers, I don’t think Tiger or Jack are too concerned either. There’s levels.

Rory is probably the only guy who had a chance to be the conversation with Tiger and Jack until the last 10 years happened. It’s amazing with all his talent he hasn’t won a major for so long.
I don’t think there will be another Tiger in my lifetime.
